We think this was designed as a child’s stool – it has a firm internal base with a soft upholstered body and a natural dip for sitting astride. Regardless of its original purpose, it’s an irresistibly fun piece – sculptural, tactile, and steeped in retro charm.
The fabric features bold psychedelic floral and geometric patterns in rich oranges, browns, and ochres, typical of the 1970s. Perfect as a nursery accent, playroom feature, or just a joyful decorative piece.
The comb shows some wear and flops slightly to one side (as pictured), but this could easily be restitched or replaced by a skilled hand.
