A characterful carved oak blanket box with Arts & Crafts and Gothic Revival influence, dating from the early 20th century.

The rich dark oak front is deeply carved with a repeating Gothic-style arched motif and moulded detailing. Shaped side supports frame the chest, while the hinged lift-up top opens to reveal a generous, clean storage compartment.

Compact and versatile, it works equally well as a traditional blanket chest, linen store, hallway storage box or low occasional piece.

Condition

Good antique condition with age-related wear throughout. There are surface marks, scratches, small knocks and areas of finish wear, particularly to the top and exposed edges. Historic marks and colour variation are visible across the timber; the interior remains clean and usable.
