The Ball Chair, designed in 1963 by Finnish designer Eero Aarnio, is one of the most recognisable icons of 20th-century design. This striking example features a fibreglass shell with a flat circular base, allowing the body of the chair to rotate smoothly. The interior is upholstered in bold reddy-orange fabric, with five distinct cushioned panels for comfort.
Although the piece shows all the hallmarks of a genuine Aarnio Ball Chair — including the formed fibreglass shell, flat base with a short stump, and classic upholstery design — there is no maker’s stamp present, and it is therefore priced accordingly.
