A particularly smart mid-century teak writing desk, combining warm teak grain with contrasting chrome-effect recessed drawer handles and a wonderfully compact footprint.

The desk features a clean rectangular top supported by a simple architectural frame, with a suspended pedestal to one side. Storage comprises three generously sized drawers, together with a shallow upper pull-out compartment containing its original ALCO metal stationery organiser — a lovely period detail that adds considerably to the character of the piece.

The combination of teak, slim proportions and metal fittings gives the desk a distinctly 1960s modernist office aesthetic. At only 107cm wide and 50cm deep, it’s an especially practical size for an apartment, bedroom or smaller home office while still providing useful working space and storage.

Condition

Very good vintage condition overall.

The desk presents particularly well, with an attractive, even teak tone and grain throughout. Light signs of age and use remain, including minor marks and wear consistent with a genuine mid-century piece. The drawers and pull-out stationery section appear clean and well presented.
