Space Age Style White Sherpa Convertible Lounge Chair & Daybed

A striking mid-century Space Age convertible sofa bed, upholstered in a beautifully textured ivory-white Sherpa-style fabric.

Featuring a distinctive low-profile silhouette, generous cushioning and minimalist construction, this versatile piece captures the relaxed, futuristic aesthetic of 1970s lounge furniture.

Designed to transform effortlessly between a comfortable lounge chair and a full-length daybed, the sofa features a fold-out upholstered base that extends to approximately 220 cm.

The substantial seat cushion and generously padded backrest create an inviting, informal seating arrangement, while the soft, textured upholstery adds warmth and character.

Its armless design and floor-level proportions are reminiscent of the modular seating popular throughout the 1970s, when flexible living spaces and unconventional furniture became increasingly fashionable.

The chair can be positioned independently as a statement piece or incorporated into a larger contemporary seating arrangement.

An excellent addition to a mid-century modern interior, retro apartment, creative studio or guest bedroom, particularly where adaptable furniture is desirable.

Condition

Good used condition overall, with visible signs of age and previous use.

The ivory-white textured upholstery retains its attractive appearance, although there are areas of discolouration, light staining and general surface marks throughout.

Some creasing and compression are visible across the seat and back cushions.

There are also areas of wear around the lower edges and rear corners, including small sections where the dark underlying material is visible.

The fold-out sections are present and have been photographed in both the upright and extended configurations.

Due to the light-coloured upholstery, professional cleaning may further improve its overall presentation.
