Mid Century Rosewood & Chrome Square Coffee Table

striking mid-century modern square coffee table, combining beautifully figured rosewood with sleek chrome legs to create a sophisticated piece of vintage modernist furniture.

Dating stylistically to the 1960s–1970s, this elegant coffee table showcases the rich colour and dramatic grain patterns associated with rosewood furniture of the period.

The generously proportioned square tabletop features a deep reddish-brown finish, with contrasting dark grain running across the surface. The carefully arranged veneer creates a striking, almost symmetrical pattern, highlighting the natural character of the timber.

Supporting the tabletop are four straight, square-profile chrome legs, providing a clean architectural contrast to the warmth of the rosewood.

The combination of richly figured timber and polished metal reflects the minimalist aesthetic popular throughout European mid-century furniture design.

With its low profile and balanced square proportions, this table would make an attractive centrepiece for a contemporary living room, particularly alongside Scandinavian furniture, modular seating or vintage leather sofas.

At just 38 cm high, it has the relaxed proportions associated with classic 1970s lounge furniture, while its 70 × 70 cm tabletop provides a practical surface without overwhelming smaller living spaces.

An elegant example of vintage modernist design, combining natural materials with simple geometric construction.
