A stylish mid-century telephone bench by Chippy Heath, combining warm walnut and teak tones with a particularly elegant asymmetrical design.

The left-hand section features a raised cabinet with two drawers, both finished with beautifully figured fronts and small brass handles. To the right sits the lower bench section, creating the classic telephone-table layout that made these pieces so distinctive in the 1950s and 1960s.

The tapered legs are finished with brass-capped feet, adding a refined period detail, while the long, low proportions give the piece a light and architectural feel.

Today it works just as well as a hallway bench, bedroom bench, low console or occasional table as it does as a traditional telephone seat.

Good vintage condition overall with age-related wear and marks consistent with use.

There are some light surface marks and wear across the timber and legs, but the overall presentation remains strong. The drawer fronts retain particularly attractive figuring and the brass details display a pleasing aged patina.
